Quarter of Brits dream about building their own home

New research has found that around 1 in every 4 Brits wish to build their own home – a fraction which accounts for 13 million people across Great Britain.

The research looked into the motivations behind this dream, and found that the three key factors were having the freedom to design their house how they wanted, fulfilling a lifetime dream, and wanting to build a unique home for their family.

A further motivation behind self-building was the ability to include more modern technologies, with around a third of respondents noting that a futuristic home would be attractive to them.
